Anna's Journey with Take2 Performing Arts School

From the moment I stepped onto the stage at Take2, I knew performing would always be a part of who I am. Since then, I’ve had the joy of bringing many characters to life on the Take2 stage. These roles included Aladdin in ‘Aladdin, James in ‘James and the Giant Peach’, Elphaba in ‘Wicked,’ and many more.

Hi! My name is Anna Kearney, I'm a teacher for Take2 and also a student, currently studying at Trinity College.

Early Days at Take2

From my very first class at Take2, I was captivated by the world of performance. The school's nurturing environment allowed me to explore and embody various characters, including Aladdin in Aladdin, James in James and the Giant Peach, and Elphaba in Wicked. Each role was a stepping stone, building my confidence and deepening my love for the stage.

My Memorable Performances

Take2 opened doors to incredible opportunities. Portraying Annie at the National Concert Hall in Dublin was a highlight, showcasing the school's commitment to providing students with platforms to shine. The pinnacle of these experiences was representing Ireland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 with the song "Banshee" . The unwavering support from my Take2 mentors during this period was invaluable; their presence in Poland was a testament to the school's dedication to its students.

Transitioning to Teaching

Returning to Take2 as a teacher has been a full circle moment. The memories of my initial nervous excitement as a student fuel my approach to teaching. I strive to instill the same passion and confidence in my students that my mentors imparted to me. It's a privilege to guide the next generation of performers, nurturing their talents and watching them flourish.

A Community Like No Other

Take2 is more than a school; it's a family. The bonds formed here extend beyond the stage, creating a supportive community that celebrates each member's journey. My evolution from student to teacher underscores the lasting impact of Take2, and I'm honoured to contribute to its legacy.
